Vectech's IDX platform is a table-top species identification tool currently focusing on mosquitoes and ticks (https://www.vectech.io/mosid , previously named MosID). Right now we can identify 16 mosquito species with 97% accuracy, but to grow the number of species we can identify, we need to image more specimens from each target species. We are currently looking for partners who can share specimens from target species (anywhere from 50-200 of each species) and we are hoping the EntoExchange network can help us out! To start we are specifically looking for Aedes aegypti, Anopheles quadrimaculatus, and Psorophora columbiae, but will accept other species too. If you are interested in working with us, please reach out to me at adam@vectech.io.

Hey Adam, I was going through my freezer and realized I was hoarding a bunch of Aedes aegypti! I have 55 specimens in good to great condition, mostly females but a handful of males as well. Are you still in need, and if so, where would you like me to ship them to?
Hi Beth! Every little bit helps! As for deadlines we are hoping to get these (and a few other species) by the end of July. Waiting once collections ramp up in the summer totally works.
Hi Adam! We currently don’t have a high enough stock but we will this summer for sure. Do you have a specific deadline you are needing these by?
Thank you Adam! Very cool project. We’ll get the word out and start sending you specimens.
